Bellator 69 Full fight card and predictions
It’s another MMA weekend! Bellator and TUF Live tonight, Strikeforce tomorrow and TUF: Brazil Sunday, not to mention the U of MMA show live at the Nokia in downtown Los Angeles we will be attending. It’s gonna be a great weekend, fights, fights and more fights. I might find time to barbecue and have a shot or two even. What you got planned?
This card should be interesting, if only for Megumi Fujii/Aguilar and Falcao/Spang but like all Bellator Cards, I expect some happy surprises from the undercard. As usual my predictions are in Green. Ranters, leave your predictions in the comments section and as always, Enjoy!
Featherweight Shanon Slack vs Booker Arthur
Lightweight Josh Quayhagen vs Cliff Wright
Light Heavyweight Josh Burns vs Richard Hale
Richard Hale. Cause in school, he could have been referred to as Dick Hale or Hale, Dick! I love it.
Lightweight E.J. Brooks vs Kalvin Hackney
Welterweight Andrey Koreshkov vs Derrick Krantz
Heavyweight Mark Holata vs Abe Wagner
Heavyweight Ron Sparks vs Kevin Asplund
Ron Sparks has huge power, huge power. HE’s got no gas tank tho. Kevin Asplund is a smaller HW and should have more speed and endurance. If he can make it past Sparks power in the first round, he should be able to pull out a decision. I’m going with Ron Sparks by TKO/KO.
Women’s 125 lbs. Megumi Fujii vs Jessica Aguilar
Megumi Fujii is considered by most (myself included) the best 115lb female fighter in the world. She should also still be undefeated, but that’s for another discussion. Jessica Aguilar is considered the #2. With a similar skillset, making this fight a fairly even one and hard to call. Fujii is 38, with a ton more experience, even though she has the age advantage, I think Aguilar will fall to Megumi. I’m picking Megumi Fujii by decision.
Welterweight David Rickels vs Karl Amoussou Welterweight tournament semifinal
David Rickles is the underdog in this bout, Karl Amoussou has power, has faced ‘better’ competition, I’m not so sure about that, and has been in more battles. David Rickels has KO power and a good submission game. I’m going with Rickels, David Rickels by submission.
Middleweight Maiquel Falcão vs Andreas Spang Middleweight tournament final
OG Crazy vs. New Blood Crazy is what this one’s all about. On the real, Maiquel Falcao is a loose cannon in and out of the cage, Andreas Spang is a loose cannon pre and post fight. Both have Ko power, Falcao’s is probable the best in the Bellator division, both have strong chins, and both have no regard for their own safety in the cage. Expect Spang to try and absorb the best Falcao has to offer while trying to draw the fight in to the later rounds. Expect Falcao to try and send Spang’s head into press row from the open bell. Despite Spang’s incredible comeback performance in his last bout, I like the OG crazy and want to see him fight for the Bellator Championship, there’s a high probability that fighting in a cage is the only thing keeping this man out of prison. Maiquel Falcao by TKO/KO.
