Bellator LX: Joe Warren vs. Pat Curran full fight card and predictions
Bellator LX or (60) for those of us that don’t subscribe to the roman numeral system is coming up in a few hours, a few short hours. Tonight is TUF Live: 1 on FX and Bellator 60 on Spike.com/MTV2. It’s gonna be a good night. Joe Warren and Pat Curran are sure to put on a good fight, as is Marlon Sandro, Sean McCorkle and Richard White, since they hate each other now as well as Shamar Baily, Ronnie Mann and several others.
As usual, my picks are in green. Ranters, post your picks in the comments section.
Main Card
- Featherweight Championship bout:
Joe Warren (c) vs.
Pat Curran
Joe Warren fights, he fights till he wins. Pat Curran brings it also. His win over Marlon Sandro (which hurt my heart) was spectacular, as was his win over Ronnie Mann. These two are gonna be fighting for the Championship, this will be Pat Curran’s 2nd shot at Bellator gold, his first bid ended in a decision loss to Eddie Alvarez at LW. This drop down to Featherweight has been the best career move for Pat Curran. Joe Warren tried his hand at the Bantamweight division and suffered a devastating KO los to Alexis Villa last season, will that loss play a part in his title defense? It’s only his 2nd loss in his career. Despite that loss, Pat Curran is my pick in this bout, this move down in weight has really showcased his abilities and talents. I’m going with Pat Curran by TKO/KO.
- Featherweight Quarterfinal bout:
Marlon Sandro vs.
Roberto Vargas
Marlon Sandro was once considered one of the best Featherweight in the world, he’s still considered top 10 and needs this win badly to stay at the top of the heap. He’s facing a game opponent in Roberto Vargas, and as my Editor Jimmy always says, ‘Never bet against a Brazilian.’ I’m gonna take his advice and go with Marlon Sandro by TKO/KO.
- Featherweight Quarterfinal bout:
Ronnie Mann vs.
Mike Corey
Ronnie Mann looked great last season, Mike Corey looked good too. Not as great as Ronnie Mann. This will be Mike’s 2nd fight in a Bellator Tournament and he’s starting out with a tough opponent, an opponent I believe will take the decision victory. Ronnie is a solid fighter with almost twice the experience and 4 previous Bellator Tournament appearances, that experience in and out of Bellator gives him the edge. I’m going with Ronnie Mann by decision.
- Featherweight Quarterfinal bout:
Alexandre Bezerra vs.
Kenny Foster
Alexandre Bezerra.
- Featherweight Quarterfinal bout:
Daniel Straus vs.
Jeremy Spoon
Daniel Strauss.
Local Feature Fights
- Bantamweight bout:
Cory Galloway vs.
Jake Nauracy
Corey Galloway cause I can pronounce his name.
- Catchweight (215 lbs) bout:
Travis Wiuff vs. Anthony Gomez
Anthony Gomez, going with the underdog.
- Catchweight (280 lbs) bout:
Sean McCorkle vs.
Richard White
Sean McCorkle and Richard White don’t like each other, they’ve been in an inernet war for a few weeks leading up to fight, Sean has UFC experience, Richard White has some ugly losses. This fight doesn’t look like it will be all that entertaining, it’s a catch weight, not a way for Sean to impress the industry. Sean McCorkle by long boring decision.
- Catchweight (165 lbs) bout:
Shamar Bailey vs.
Josh Shockley
Shamar Baily
