IF I RULED THE UNIVERSE UFC ON FOX EDITION
It’s that time again, time to travel to my universe and see how this weekend’s card should have ended up.
Currently, in my universe, Brock Lesnar just retired from the sport after defending the HW Belt a record 10 times. Mark Hunt is the current HW Champ after KO’oing Alistair Overeem, who is banned from competing for life for his steroid use. Nick Diaz is still the WW Champ, Chael Sonnen holds the MW belt and is getting ready to take the LHW Belt. Dan Henderson KO’d Machida and retired after beating Jon Jones and becoming the GOAT.
Now the refresher course is over, lets talk about the card. There were only a few differences in the card, 4 to be exact.
Gilbert Melendez defeated Benson Henderson Unanimous Decision
Gil opened up a can on Benson, landing heavy leg kicks and taking down the Champ at will. The 5 rounds were pretty much all Gil, grinding the champ, punishing him on the ground…standing, everywhere. It was a great fight and the Champ knew he was completely defeated.
Daniel Cormier defeated Frank Mir by KO (Uppercut)
Daniel came out fast, hitting Mir with a few body shots before pushing up against the cage, there he utilized the Carwin technique and landed devastating uppercut after uppercut until Mir slumped down in a peaceful slumber.
Nate Diaz defeated Josh Thomson by Submission
Nate come out quick, with a takedown, what? Yeah, a takedown, where he punished Thompson with GnP before putting on a fight ending armbar.
Lorenz Larkin defeated Francis Carmont by KO (flying Knee)
Lorenz larkin took only 4.4 seconds to crush Carmont with a flying knee. The round started and Larkin rushed the center catching Carmont with the beautiful flying knee, ending his night quickly.
