No Commissioner’s Grandson Left Behind

Do you ever read something and think, “I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do with this information”?

I just read Steve Cofield’s blog entry on how star Zuffa fighters are helping to motivate the grandson of the head of the athletic commission in Ohio and… I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with that information.

I mean, am I supposed to look at these fighters with a new level of respect for their efforts to motivate a kid to do his schoolwork? That even these muscle-bound fighting gods think education is important? Am I supposed to value education more because high-level UFC fighters do?

Because, I’ll be honest: all I’m thinking after reading that is, “Wow. Must be nice.”

Not every kid gets the benefit of having his idols call him to tell him to do his homework… and yet, lots of kids still make good grades…

I don’t know… maybe I’m reading too much into this. These guys did a good thing for a kid. That’s commendable.

So, Randy Couture, Brock Lesnar, Forrest Griffin & Dan Henderson, I salute you. Kinda.

And now that I’ve written this… I still don’t know how to feel about it!
