Strikeforce: Go All In!

OK, so by now we’ve lost one Strikeforce card and are moments away from losing the November 3rd card, if not the promotion… so before we go mourning another brand lost inside of the behemoth that is Zuffa/UFC, I have a suggestion: One last blowout event!

Think of it: multiple titles on the line. Last chance to see Strikeforce in action. Put every viable fighter on notice as possible replacements…

A genuinely strong card that wouldn’t be derailed by a few key injuries…

I’m not suggesting they lose money on the deal, either: Make a Main Card PPV with Rousey, Cormier and three other bouts and hold the prelims on Showtime, with Showtime Extreme hosting what would in UFC terms be the facebook prelims. You know the people would pay to see a main card featuring Rousey and Cormier…

…or not. I don’t know. I really like the idea of Strikeforce as a somewhat independent promotion. I like the fighters on the roster. I feel that there’s some relevant matchups to be made… but you can only fight the tide for so long, right? Water wears down solid rock, given enough time…

Besides, with the availability of the Strikeforce fighters adding to the UFC stable, maybe the UFC wouldn’t have so many problems finding quality replacements to make quality replacement fights…
