Strikeforce: Rockhold vs Kennedy Full Fight Card and Predictions

Strikeforce! They are still around? Just kidding, there are a ton of rumors coming out of the UFC Fan Expo and Fighter Summit that Strikeforce will be folded by December. Take them with a grain of salt, I think Showtime has them by the balls and enjoys making Zuffa lose money on each show, don’t expect them to let go of that power anytime soon. When Showtime has another quality MMA deal in place is when Strikeforce will  be folded, not a second before. Anyways, it’s time for another Strikeforce card, and I gotta say I’m excited, again. I generally like the Strikeforce cards, especially when there are titles on the line. This time we got 2 titles up for grabs. The MW and the WW. Who you got?

Middleweight Championship Luke Rockhold (9-1) vs. Tim Kennedy (14-3)
Luke Rockhold has impressed the hell out of me in his last few bouts, his game has improved by a large margin and I think it will be to much for Tim Kennedy to overcome. Tim Kennedy is always game, and dangerous. They are fairly evenly matched, I think the heart and desire of Rockhold is gonna be the deciding factor. Luke Rockhold by Submission.

Welterweight Championship- vacant Nate Marquardt (31-10) vs. Tyron Woodley (10-0)
Nate Marquardt has been out of action since failing his pre fight medicals for the UFC over a year ago. Tyron Woodley is undefeated and looking for his first championship. This is the belt Nick Diaz vacated to move to the UFC. Marquardt has heavy hands, good wrestling and a ton more experience. He’s lost as many as Woodley has fought total. Woodley is known for a stifling, wrestling based style, many would call it ‘lay and pray’. I’m hopiong ot see something different from Woodley this time, but I gotta give the edge to Marquardt. Regardless, I’m gonna go with Woodley by decision.

Roger Gracie (4-1) vs. Keith Jardine (17-10)
Roger Gracie  is another King Mo victim, losing by KO in his last fight. Roger is back down at MW against Jardine, who did’t look so hot in his last fight, his first at MW. Jardin is always dangerous, and tough to figure out. I would expect Roger to take this to the ground fast and end it by Sub. Jardine’s stand up is better and more difficult to time than Roger Gracie is used to. If Roger stand and trades, Jardine will take it. Roger Gracie by Sub.

Lorenz Larkin (12-0-1) vs. Robbie Lawler (19-8)
Lorenz Larkin was last seen in the cage being KO’d by King Mo, who tested positive for steroids and was let go by Zuffa. Robbie Lawler lost his last bout to Tim Kennedy and before that lost to Jacare. Robbie is looking to get back into the title hunt with a win over Larkin. Larkin made the move to MW after his last defeat, a good place for him, and I think we will see a faster Larkin who will give Lawler some trouble in the feet. I’m going with Larkin by TKO/KO.

Pat Healy (27-16) vs. Mizuto Hirota (14-4)
Mizuto Hirota. I just want to pick against the favorite.

Jorge Masvidal (22-7) vs. Justin Wilcox (11-4)
Justin Wilcox.

Jordan Mein (24-8) vs. Tyler Stinson (23-8)
Tyler Stinson

Ryan Couture (4-1) vs. Joe Duarte (10-2)
Ryan Coture has been improving, Joe Duarte is a good bout for him to see where he’s at in his development. Ryan Coture by Sub.

Jason High (15-3) vs. Nate Moore (8-2)
I haven’t seen Jason High fight i na while, but I remember, That’s enough for me. Jason High.
