The UFC’s global conquest continues.
In news not related to the many roster changes this past week. The UFC reached a dea with Fox Sports Latin America. Inking a 2 year deal, allowing Fox to air UFC content in 18 countries in Latin America (Except Brazil). UFC 133 will be the first broadcast covered under the new deal.
From FOX Pan American Sports:
“We are excited to be able to bring our viewers a front row seat to the fastest growing sport in world, Through our agreement with UFC, mixed martial arts fans throughout Latin America will for the first time be able to watch live UFC events exclusively on FOX Sports, which were traditionally only available on Pay-Per-View.”
I would say, expect some major latin talent to be pursued and signed in the coming months. The Latin American market is ravenous. They love their sports. The question now, will the UFC and MMA cross over and appeal to the sport minded countries in Latin America? Most likely, yes. Free UFC fights, how could they not build the fan base fast? Also, expect a few dates to be announced for Latin America UFC events in the next 12 months.
The UFC is aggressively expanding their viewership, is China next?
