UFC Live on Versus: Results
August 14th marked the first time the UFC took the Octagon™ to Wisconsin, and what an event they put on!
Here are the results for UFC Live on Versus: Hardy vs. Lytle (winners in bold):
Chris Lytle throws a guillotine choke on Dan Hardy. Hardy taps at 4:16 of Round Three.
Ben Henderson puts a whupping on Jim Miller. Unanimous Decision.
Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone beats the hell out of Charles Oliveria. TKO strikes at 3:01 of Round One.
Duane “Bang” Ludwig outfights Amir Sadollah. Unanimous Decision.
Lately, the Facebook (and Spike) Prelims have really put pressure on the Main Card to deliver. These were no different:
Jared Hamman beat up C.B. Dolloway, ending the fight at 3:39 of Round Two with a TKO due to punches. A really strong showing from Hamman in his UFC debut.
Joseph Benavidez chose to go with “Beefcake” as his nickname. And then dominated Eddie Wineland. Unanimous decision. (Seriously, at the end of Round One you could have inserted Wineland into any scene of The Walking Dead and he would’ve fit right in…)
Ed Herman really put his back into his heel-hook submission of Kyle Noke (Noke had to be helped off with a guy under each arm to walk out to the locker rooms) at 4:15 of Round One.
Ronny Markes looked unstoppable beating Karlos Vemola all around the Octagon™ for a unanimous decision.
Jim Hettes and Alex “Bruce Leroy” Caceres put together a really exciting round and a half of striking, wrestling and jiu-jitsu before Hettes caught Caceres with a rear-naked choke as they went to the ground at 3:12 of Round Two.
Cole Miller and T.J. O’Brien looked like long-lost brothers who fought as mirrors of each other before a guillotine choke gave Miller the win at 2:38 of Round Two.
Jacob Volkmann took the fight to Danny Castillo, picking up the unanimous decision.
Edwin Figueroa opened the night, defeating Jason Reinhadt (whose background in striking proved to be totally inadequate) with a TKO stoppage from strikes at :50 of Round Two.
A great night of totally free (assuming basic cable for the main card and a computer with Internet access for the prelims) MMA from the UFC in Wisconsin!
