UFC on Fuel 1: Sanchez vs. Ellenberger full fight card and predictions

UFC on Fuel is going down in just a few hours. Below are  a few videos from Jake Ellenberger and Sean Loeffler. As always my predictions are in green. Post your predictions in the comment section. Enjoy.

Main card (Fuel TV)

  • Welterweight bout: United States Diego Sanchez vs. United States Jake Ellenberger

Diego Sanchez is always ready for a war, he’s calling out Nick Diaz currently and hoping to fight Carlos Condit if he gets past Ellenberger. I don’t think Diego has what it takes to beat either Nick or Condit, he might have enough to get past Ellenberger. Ellenberger on the other hand is progressing at an alarming rate, his stand up is becoming scary. Based on his past performances and his current coaches (Kings and Reign) I’m gonna go with Ellenberger by decision. I hope he pulls out he T/KO and moves into title contention.
  • Heavyweight bout: Netherlands Stefan Struve vs. United States Dave Herman

Stefan Struve is possibly the future of the HW division, Herman is a mainstay in the division. Both are scrappers, Struve is more technical, but Herman has the superior BJJ. Struve’s reach is gonna be the deciding factor I think, I’m going with Struve by T/KO.
  • Middleweight bout: United States Aaron Simpson vs. Brazil Ronny Markes

Aaron Simpson is a solid UFC fighter, Ronny Markes is also solid. Simpson has wrestling and stand up, Markes has BJJ and stand up, it’s a hard call because they are very evenly matched. I’m gonna go with the smart play, pick the Brazilian. Ronny Markes by decision.
  • Heavyweight bout: United States Stipe Miocic vs. England Philip De Fries

Stipe and Philip De Fries are also a great match up, once again they are close to even. Earlier I picked Stipe, but I forgot about De Fries last fight, it was a tough one that he one. I’m gonna stick with Stipe by decision.
  • Bantamweight bout: United States T.J. Dillashaw vs. United States Walel Watson

T.J. Dillashaw is a superb wrestler, but he seems to cave under the pressure. Walel Watson is a solid fighter coming off a decision loss to Yves Jabouin, which was close. T.J.’s wrestling is gonna be a major factor, but so is the pressure of the Octagon™. I’m gonna go with Walel, he needs a good showing and may feel like he was hand picked to help T.J.’s climb up the mountain. Walel by decision.
  • Bantamweight bout: El Salvador Ivan Menjivar vs. United States John Albert

John Albert was a standout on TUF, Ivan is a veteran. This fight could really come down to experience. Ivan has more, but Albert is a fighter. I’m gonna go with Albert by T/KO.

Preliminary card (Facebook)

  • Featherweight bout: United States Jonathan Brookins vs. Brazil Vagner Rocha

Vagner Rocha, always pick the Brazilian.
  • Middleweight bout: United States Buddy Roberts vs. United States Sean Loeffler

Sean Loeffler, the guys a beast with tons to prove.
  • Lightweight bout: Finland Anton Kuivanen vs. United States Justin Salas

Justin Salas, going with the American here.
  • Lightweight bout: United States Tim Means vs. Brazil Bernardo Magalhaes

Tim Means is another beat to keep your eye on. Had to go with him over the Brazilian.

That’s It!
