UFC on FX 5 Full fight card and Predictions

What a way to start a card. Jeremy Stephens gets arrested, Dennis Hallman misses weight and gets released from the UFC, Jacob Volkman is on the card and some of the UFC 151 fights ended up on this card. The Bantamweight eliminator bout is on here too. It’s gonna be an interesting card to say the least.

Main Card

Heavyweight United States Travis Browne vs. Brazil Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva
I feel Bigfoot has been exposed. He’s slow, uncoordinated and coming off of 2 TKO/KO losses in a row. Mike Kyle, a LHW dropped him. Travis Browne is 13-0-1 against strong competition. Bigfoot’s strenght is gonna be his experience, but I feel Browne will be faster and has the height and reach to pick Bigfoot apart, leading to a 2nd round TKO/KO. Browne by TKO/KO.

Welterweight United States Jake Ellenberger vs. United States Jay Hieron
Jay Hieron is back, remember him? Hieron is a veteran who’s last loss was to an incredible wrestler in Ben Askren, he’s facing another stellar wrestler in Jake Ellenberger. Ellenberger has good GnP along with his wrestling. BOth guys have good cardio but I think Ellenberger’s wrestling will be the key. Ellenberger by decision.

Flyweight United States John Dodson vs. Brazil Jussier Formiga
John Dodson is fast, possibly faster than Mighty Mouse, he also has KO power at this weight. Formiga is a top 5 ranked Bantamweight, some say a top 3. His last loss was to Ian McCall for the Tachi Palace title. Formiga has a long list of submission and decision victories while Dodson has a good mix of TKO and decision victories. I’m in a tough spot cause I like both of these fighters. I think Dodson’s speed and power will be the key, he’s not gonna get put in a submission. Dodson by decision (hope for KO). That would set up an Ian McCall rematch which I would love to see.

Welterweight United States Justin Edwards vs. United States Josh Neer
Josh Neer is coming off a KO by Mike Pyle, expect him to want to make a statement. Edwards is coming off a loss to John Maguire, I feel Neer has better competition behind him, giving him the advantage not to mention heavier hands. Josh Neer by TKO/KO. But probably by decision.
