UFC on FX5 one crazy card
UFC on FX 5 is turing into one crazy motherF23King Card! First Dennis Hallman fails to make weight by 7lbs, then, as it’s his 2nd time not making weight, is fired. His bout with Tavares is cancelled.
Afterward, Hallman was cut from the UFC, he told MMA Fighting in a text message.
“They are cutting me,” he wrote. “Dana [White] gave me my show and win pay to help me deal with the mountain in front of me. Now I have to go make weight a couple times on the regional circuit. I’ll be back to the UFC though, I always am.”
“I’m having some personal issues at home,” Hallman said. “I’m not fit to fight. I told Dana [White] what my issues were. He understands family matters, and he was cool with me not fighting.”
That was last night, this morning, Jeremy Stephens is picked up for an outstanding felony charge, he’s currently sitting in Jail as we write this. Click on the image for more info, although there isn’t much. We don’t much care about Jeremy’s charges, unless they are related to a woman or a child, then we care. Otherwise, we won’t be following up on his personal business. As for his fight tonight, so far it’s still scheduled.
Dana White tweeted
“Don’t listen to the media! Nobody ever told them Jeremy isn’t fighting. He is fighting!!”
Don’t forget, Jacob Volkman is on the card, the man who has had the Secret Service visit him twice due to his comments about our current President in his post fight interviews. Two times…that’s some real sh!t right there. This does not make us feel good about his chances tonight, it’s a black cloud type of day over this event, keep yer’ mouth shut this time is our advice.
Here is a quick rundown of the other issues that have plagued this card.
- UFC on FX 5 was originally expected to take place on September 7, 2012 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
- Louis Gaudinot vs. Darren Uyenoyama was on the card, however, Gaudinot was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by promotional newcomer Phil Harris.
- Rob Broughton and Matt Mitrione, originally scheduled for UFC on Fox: Shogun vs. Vera and then briefly linked to this event, fell through after Broughton was forced out of the bout for a second time.
- UFC 151 bouts between Jake Ellenberger vs. Jay Hieron, Danny Castillo vs. Michael Johnson, Shane Roller vs. Jacob Volkmann and Dennis Hallman vs. Thiago Tavares were rescheduled for this event.
