WM Jail Blog Season 2 Episode 13
I just read an old newspaper and saw that Jr. Seau killed himself. Crazy. He was a badass linebacker, I loved watching him play when I was a kid. I got to meet him at Xtreme Couture when he was filming with Forrest, nice guy. When I was locked up in S.D. his brother Tony was with me for a month, also a nice guy. Hopefully he’s in a better place now and finally happy. Anyway, the main focus of the article was brain injuries in NFL players and a speculation that such an injury led him to do what he did. It also mentioned a big lawsuit, against the NFL, that has been filed by a bunch of ex-players and their family members in regard to the subject of brain damage. I’m not sure how I feel about that. Common sense dictates that repeated trauma to the head is not good for you; how is the NFL at fault? Where were these complaints when they were living large off the millions the NFL paid them? How can the NFL fix the problem… switch to flag football… close down shop? The NFL has a union for these guys: minimum salaries, health insurance, all kinds of shit. Boxers and MMA fighters get paid crap and have no union. I already suffer from short term memory loss, I lose my car every time I park it in a large lot. Funny, but not. Boxers have it worse, tons of retired guys are “punch drunk.” I just hate it when the MLB goes on strike, or how these ex-players sue the NFL, when all the NFL did was take care of them and make them rich while they just played the game they loved. People DIE every year in this country playing football, everyone knows there are risks… this lawsuit is straight garbage and just an example of people taking advantage of the system. Seau was great on the field, but total shite in his own head, poor guy. Memory loss is a bad sign, maybe WM shouldn’t continue fighting when he gets free. Life Coach is a good option.
I just watched some cartoon for kids called “Arthur” and Arthur looks like/reminds me of my boy Major Overall… LMAO! Anyway, I think I’m putting some muscle back on, now that I have my snacks back. Pretty much order nothing but peanut butter, sunflower seeds, and Ramen. The water here doesn’t get hot though so I don’t cook the Ramen, I just sprinkle the flavoring on it and eat it like a crunchy sandwich… lol. Oh the days of Ramen and peanut butter, Nevada jails suck. Dry Ramen is good tho.
So! I read A LOT in here and mostly non-fiction; I figure it’s better to learn than just reading made up garbage. But, I’m starting to think reading is a big waste of time! Sad to say, but really! For every book I read, trying to learn shit, I read another that totally contradicts it. It’s frustrating! Does anyone really know anything?! It’s all a damn scam! You see it all the time on the news, “Vitamin X proven to prevent Disease Z,” then the following year, “experts now say Vitamin X may actually be very bad for you.” Or you watch court cases where both sides call in so-called “experts,” on anything from handwriting analysis to gunshot wounds, and they each say the opposite stuff. What is really going on? Socrates was onto something when he said, “Wisdom is admitting that one truly knows nothing at all.” The only thing worth studying then is: Socrates and languages. When I get outta this hell-hole I’m gonna invest in those Rosetta Stone programs. Success is all about connections; the more people you can communicate with, the more opportunities that will present themselves to you, right? Socrates was the sh1t.
I will get back up.
